GuestStar is a platform where users are able to get personalised messages from their favorite celebrities or personalities in different formats.
Currently, users can commission celebrities to send their greetings in the form of songs, jokes, comic strips, and of course, video shout outs.
You can commission your favourite celebrity or personality for customised messages to surprise your loved ones on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, Valentine’s Day and more.
- Browse or search by name, category, country, or type of commission
- Enter the details that you want them to include in the commission (e.g. recipient’s name(s), message to recipient, etc.)
- Pay safely and securely via a debit or credit card – all card payments are processed by Stripe so your card information will not be stored on our servers
- You will receive an email with your message, as well as download links once your request has been completed
Our celebrities are given up to 7 days to fulfill requests.
When you make a request through our website, we place a hold on your credit card for the amount indicated in your order and your card will only be charged when your request has been completed.
If your request is not completed within 7 days, the request will be cancelled on the 8th day and your card will not be charged. Do note that it will take about 7–10 business days for the bank to reverse the hold amount.
Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that. It’s up to our celebrities to decide which and how many requests they will fulfill.
You may contact us at email@example.com to amend or cancel your request within 48 hours after submission of your request.
However, requests that have already been completed by the celebrities cannot be amended, cancelled or refunded.
Unfortunately, our Stars are unable to mention any business or company names in their videos.
Of course not. If your request remains unfulfilled after 7 days, your request will automatically expire and the hold on your card will be released within 7–10 business days.
The price of each message is set individually by our celebrities, and therefore the price will vary depending on who you send your request to!
Our celebrities can change their price at any time but you will be charged the price listed at the time of your time of booking.
We will put a hold on your credit or debit card as an authorization until your order is completed. Your card will be charged as soon as your request has been completed.
If your request does not get delivered within 7 days after your order has been placed, the authorization on your card will be released and it will be reflected in your account within 10 business days.
Friends of Gueststar
Friends of Gueststar is our charity programme where we raise funds for our partner charities by working together with the stars from our platform. We have partnered with the charities above to support different kinds of causes.
The stars on Gueststar have the option to choose one of our partner charities to support by donating either 50% or 100% of their proceeds.
Our mission is to give back to society by raising funds for our partner charities together with the Stars on our platform.
When you make a request to a Star who’s supporting a charity of their choice, you’ll also get to help someone in need.
If the Star has pledged to donate 50% of their proceeds, a minimum of 37.5% of your purchase price will go to charity.
If the Star has pledged to donate 100% of their proceeds, a minimum of 75% of your purchase price will go to charity.
The percentage is calculated after deducting Gueststar’s fees from the Star’s list price.
When browsing our website, you can either filter Stars by the charity they support, or you will see the logo of their supported charity on their profile page.
License and Ownership
The rights of GuestStar messages are owned by the celebrity who created it, or by any other person the celebrity has assigned the rights to.
Yes. The GuestStar watermark must remain visible on all GuestStar messages and cannot be removed, altered, modified, covered or cropped.
All GuestStar messages must be posted unedited to ensure information is not taken out of context.
We apologise that you are unhappy with the finished product. However, the message content falls under the jurisdiction of our celebrities’ artistic direction, hence we have no control over the content of the final message. A GuestStar meesage may not be returned or exchanged and no refunds will be issued.
Subject to your payment in full for each GuestStar message you have requested, the celebrity hereby grants to you certain rights to use their message solely for your own personal, non-commercial, and non-promotional purposes, namely: a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, revocable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, and publicly display that GuestStar message, in any and all media, whether now known or hereafter invented (for example, on social media platforms) for non-commercial purposes.
GuestStar messages are licensed to you and are not sold to you. You may not sell, re-sell, or encumber your rights in any GuestStar message, or attempt to do so. You may use an GuestStar message only in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. We may terminate all or part of the foregoing licences at any time for any reason. We reserve the right to remove a GuestStar message from our Service at any time for any reason without any notice to you.
